NOTEBOOK SECTIONS

Your notebook should be divided into different sections.  Label them as the following.

1. Focus

2. Notes

3. React

If you want to divide the NOTES section up into chapters you can do so.  Make sure you have plenty of blank looseleaf paper in your notebook.

DON'T FORGET ABOUT THE NOTEBOOK GRADE...

Your notebook will count for a substantial grade for each chapter we study.  You should have each page labeled, listed on your notebook evaluation sheet, and in order.  Keeping the notebook neat and in order will be key to your success in this class.  If you have any questions, ask to see my example binder or a friend's that you trust.  Make sure you do all assignments legibly and creatively!  Whether you use crayons, the computer, or magazines-- make sure it is colorful!

Things you should have in the front of your notebook...

Always keep your copy of the course expectations packet in the front of your notebook. You should also have a sheet of paper with 3 hall passes on it. You will have your notebook evaluation sheet at the beginning of each unit section. (Remember you will have one for each chapter, so you will probably end up with 3-4 notebook evaluation sheets in each section). You will need to have your assignment record sheet in the front of your binder. This will allow you to keep track of your grade, so you're not surprised when you get your report card!

Use Your Resources to Keep Organized...

Don't forget that I am here to help you!  I have an example binder with me in class everyday that you can ask to see when you need some help.  Also, I would be happy to set up an appointment with you to go through everything.  Remember that if you do it little by little, the papers won't build up to be a chaotic headache.  Having an organized notebook is going to be key for you in preparation for tests!
